Wendy Heath has a B.A. in Psychology from Boston University, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology with a focus in cognitive and social psychology from The University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Heath, winner of the Iorio Faculty Research Prize in 2015, has long been devoted to supporting student involvement in research, and her work in the American Psychology-Law Society (AP-LS) provides examples of this focus. Most notably, Dr. Heath created the annual AP-LS Award for Undergraduate Research and was the Chairperson of the AP-LS Committee that awards research grants to graduate students. She is also a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for the Teaching of Psychology and the Association for Psychological Science. She sees writing this textbook as another way to encourage students’ involvement in research.
