Happy Chinese New Year!

Today marks one of the largest holidays celebrated around the world. Chinese New Year celebrations will take place from Shanghai to London to San Francisco, and we’re ringing in the Year of the Goat with the new book Chopsticks: A Cultural and Culinary History. The quintessential Asian utensil has a long and fascinating story that spans centuries and continents from Neolithic China to medieval Turkey to the ubiquitous Asian takeout trend today.

So celebrate Chinese New Year by breaking out your chopsticks, cooking up some hot pot, and learning a bit more about the way these tools came to define global culture and cuisine from author Q. Edward Wang.
