Photography Contest: Shoot the Moon

Since our Summer Stargazing contest last year was so popular, we’re bringing it back! Preparations for The New Moon being published this August have us wildly excited about the lunar landscape and our closest neighbor, and we want to see your pictures! Send us your photographs of the Moon for a chance to win $125 worth of Cambridge astronomy books of your choice.

Whether you’re an experienced photographer or just getting started, the Moon is a picture-perfect subject. But no need to stop there—we’ll consider your favorite night-sky photos, so send us your best shots of stars, galaxies, planets, or whatever else you can find out there in our big, beautiful Universe.

Guidelines for submissions:

Contestants can submit up to 3 images. Images should be in jpeg, tiff, or gif format. Please include how you’d like your name to appear, and equipment or software used.

Deadline for submissions is August 31, 2014.

Send submissions to Rachel Ewen at [email protected]

By submitting your photos, you grant permission for them to be posted on the Cambridge University Press blog, Facebook, and Pinterest pages.

The winner will be contacted by email after the competition closes.

Prizes:

The winner will receive $125 worth of Cambridge astronomy books. Runners up will also receive a special prize!

Happy sky-hunting! We look forward to your entries!
