Melanie Benson Taylor is Professor of Native American Studies at Dartmouth College. She is the author of Disturbing Calculations: The Economics of Identity in Postcolonial Southern Literature, 1912-2002 (Georgia, 2008); Reconstructing the Native South: American Indian Literature and the Lost Cause (Georgia, 2012) and The Indian in American Southern Literature (Cambridge, 2020). She also edited The Cambridge History of Native American Literature and a Norton Critical Edition of Faulkner’s Light in August, both forthcoming in 2020. She currently serves as executive editor of Native South.
