Douwe Draaisma is author of Why Life Speeds Up As You Get Older: How Memory Shapes our Past (2012), Disturbances of the Mind (2009), and Metaphors of Memory: A History of Ideas about the Mind (2001). He is Professor in the History of Psychology at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
